In August 2018, Eleanor was certified as one of the few teachers in the UK to teach Matthew Sweeney's Moon Sequence.

Eleanor's intention is to teach those who prefer a structured class and the clear boundaries a set sequence offers, but find Ashtanga yoga too intense at this phase in their life.  Set sequences can quickly highlight to students their strengths and weaknesses, which is a great start to quickly become aware of the physical body, to be able to accept, adapt and evolve from this space.

Many vinyasa classes change from week to week, which is fantastic for variety, but can leave some practitioners feeling a little wayward and unclear as to which direction their practice is going in the long run.

In Matthew's words,  "the Moon Sequence places more emphasis on the lower body, the hips, and a soft and stable abdomen... and is intended to help awareness of the cycles of the Moon and encourage your intuitive faculty. It is not intended to entirely replace your Ashtanga practice, or any other practice for that matter, but rather enhance and balance your weekly routine."

The Moon Sequence is open to all levels of practitioners and is a softer, slower practice that encourages you to refine and search for the subtle changes within your body.

All Moon Sequence classes will include an element of pranayama (breathing techniques) and metta bhavana (loving kindness) meditation.
